Who this is for
This page is for anyone who has an Aditus Pay account and wants it deleted. You do not need the app on your phone to use this page. Aditus Pay is made by MeerTech Ltd.
Before you start
- Use or move your money first. We cannot delete an account that still has money in the wallet. Buy electricity with it, or contact us first if you need help.
- Let pending things finish. A purchase or a top-up that is still waiting must finish first. If you started a top-up that has not been paid yet, we tell you the date from which you can delete.
- No unpaid balance. We cannot delete an account that owes money or has a bank dispute still open.
If we cannot delete your account yet, we tell you the reason and what to do. Nothing is deleted until you confirm.
Option 1: In the app
- Open Aditus Pay and sign in.
- Tap More, then Privacy and your data. You can also reach it from Security.
- Tap Delete my account.
- Read what is erased and what is kept, tap I understand, continue, and type your password.
- Tap Delete my account now.
Option 2: On the website
- Go to app.pay.aditusos.com/account/privacy and sign in.
- Choose Delete my account and confirm with your password.
Option 3: By email
Use this if you lost your phone or cannot sign in.
- Send an email to support@pay.aditusos.com with the subject "Delete my Aditus Pay account".
- Send it from the email address on your account. If your account has only a phone number, give us the phone number and we will check it with you by a call or a code before we do anything.
- Tell us the name on the account. Do not send your password, PIN, BVN or NIN by email. We will never ask for them.
We check that the request really comes from you, because deleting an account cannot be undone. We answer within 30 days. If a reason stops us deleting the account, we tell you what it is.
What is deleted
- Your name, email address and phone number
- Your password, your PIN and your two-step sign-in
- Your saved meters and the meter holder names saved with them
- Your push notification tokens and the security keys of your phones
- Your notifications and any sign-in codes still waiting
- Your name, email and phone number copied into payment notices from our payment provider
- Your sign-in on every phone. You are signed out everywhere.
Your agreements to use of your data are marked as withdrawn, not removed, so we can still show what you agreed to and when.
What is kept, and why
- Records of money that moved: your top-ups, electricity purchases, tokens, refunds, commissions and wallet movements. Nigerian financial and tax law requires us to keep them for at least 5 years. After deletion they no longer show your name, email or phone number, and the meter holder's name is removed from your purchases. The meter number and the amounts stay.
- Proof that your identity was checked: only if you verified with a BVN or NIN. This is a reference code and a date. It is never your BVN or NIN. The law on money laundering requires it.
- A short history of your agreements and of the deletion itself, so we can show we answered your request.
- Backup copies: our database backups are replaced on a rolling basis, so a deleted detail can remain in an old backup for a short time. It is not restored into any account.
The mini-grid company whose meter you used may keep its own sales and payment records under its own rules. Those records carry amounts and references, not your account.
How long it takes
In the app or on the website, deleting your account takes effect as soon as you confirm. For an email request we answer within 30 days, and we delete the account as soon as we have checked it is you. After deletion you cannot get the account back. You can open a new account later with the same phone number or email address.
Want a copy of your data first?
In the app, open Privacy and your data and tap Prepare my copy. On the website, use app.pay.aditusos.com/account/privacy. See our Privacy Policy for everything we collect and why.
